Stay-Silv® 2 is an economical, phos-copper brazing filler metal alloy with a medium temperature range for brazing copper and copper-to-brass. The addition of silver provides an 1190oF solidus that widens the melting range compared to Harris® 0. Stay-Silv® 2 is useful for applications where mechanical properties are less critical. Recommended joint clearance of 0.002 in. - 0.005 in. Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive.

  • Flux not required for copper brazing as it is self-fluxing. For brazing brass or copper-to-brass Stay-Silv® white flux is suitable for most applications. Harris Eco Smart® boric acid free flux, powder or paste, is an excellent choice to promote sound brazed assemblies

  • Corrosion resistance is generally similar to the copper base metal, but phosphorus containing alloys, including Stay-Silv® 2, should not be used if the braze is exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds in service
