Phos Bronze C TIG (GTAW) copper-tin welding alloy is used to weld copper-tin composition base metals. Also used to weld copper alloys, including brass-to-steel. Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.7 & AMSE SFA A5.7 ERCuSn-C CDA 521.

Features

  • Pre-heat is generally not required unless welding high copper content base metals
  • Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.7 & AMSE SFA A5.7 ERCuSn-C CDA 521
  • Often used on overlays on cast iron or steel or to join dissimilar metals
  • Yields high strength (66,000 psi tensile and 35,000 psi yield) deposits on phos-bronze materials
  • Use with 100% argon or 25%/75% argon/helium shielding gas mixture
  • The 7%-9% tin content creates greater hardness
  • Designed for welding base metals of steel, cast iron, copper, brass and bronze
  • Typical applications include maintenance, repair and fabrication of bearings, bushings, couplings, gears, housings, propellers, pumps, shafts and valve bodies and seats
  • Tensile Strength: 66,000 psi
