Sureweld 316L electrodes produce a concave bead with smooth ripples and a self-releasing slag. It presents an excellent wetting action and fine ripples, which minimize post weld cleaning. This characteristic is particularly useful in the food and drink industry where a smooth polished surface is required. Higher molybdenum in this product increases the resistance to pitting corrosion caused by corrosive media such as acids, sulphite, and chloride solutions. It is normally used for welding 18% Cr – 12% Ni - 2.5% Mo stainless. Ideal for welding steels Types 316 & 316L
