Phos Bronze C TIG (GTAW) copper-tin welding alloy is used to weld copper-tin composition base metals. Also used to weld copper alloys, including brass-to-steel. Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.7 & AMSE SFA A5.7 ERCuSn-C CDA 521.

Features

  • Designed for welding base metals of steel, cast iron, copper, brass and bronze
  • Pre-heat is generally not required unless welding high copper content base metals
  • Yields high strength (66,000 psi tensile and 35,000 psi yield) deposits on phos-bronze materials
  • Typical applications include maintenance, repair and fabrication of bearings, bushings, couplings, gears, housings, propellers, pumps, shafts and valve bodies and seats
  • Often used on overlays on cast iron or steel or to join dissimilar metals
  • Use with 100% argon or 25%/75% argon/Helium shielding gas mixture
  • Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.7 & AMSE SFA A5.7 ERCuSn-C CDA 521
  • The 7%-9% tin content creates greater hardness
  • Weight: 1.02 lbs
  • Yield Strength: 35,000 psi
  • Tensile Strength: 66,000 psi
  • Elongation: 45%
  • Brinell Hardness: 90-100 HB
  • Solidus Temperature: 1620 F (882 C)
  • Liquidus Temperature: 1880 F (1027 C)
  • Material Composition: 7%-9% Tin, Copper Balance, 0.02% Lead, 0.20% Zinc, 0.10% Iron, 0.50% Others
  • Recommended Shielding Gas: 100% Argon or 25%/75% Argon/Helium mixture
