W1060 (RG-45) is a general purpose, copper coated, low carbon steel alloy that is widely used on mild steel. It offers good ductility and machinability.

Features

  • Weld on clean base metal to ensure the best results
  • Its typical minimum weld tensile strength is 45 ksi
  • It has good ductility and good machinability
  • No flux required but "puddling" of the molten metal will bring any sale or impurities to the surface
  • Copper coated, low carbon steel, gas welding rod that is widely used for oxy-fuel welding on mild steel
  • Conforms to AWS A52 R45
  • Produces high quality welds that are ductile and porosity-free
  • Can be used on steel plate, sheet and pipe where high strength is not required
  • Welding low carbon steel, automotive repair and ornamental art
  • Solid wire used for oxy-fuel and GTAW (TIG) welding

Applications

  • Automotive repair
  • Welding low carbon and mild steel
  • Ornamental art
